Privacy-policy

Tapas in a Box is committed to preserving the privacy of all visitors to our website at tapasinabox.com. Please read the following privacy policy to understand how we use and protect the information that you provide to us.

By registering or placing an order on this website, you consent to the collection, use and transfer of your information under the terms of this policy.

YOUR INFORMATION AND HOW WE USE IT

When you visit, register or order products or services on tapasinabox.com you may be asked to provide certain information about yourself including your name, contact details and credit or debit card information.

Your information will enable us to provide you with access to all parts of our website and to supply the goods or services you have requested. Clearly, your name and address details will be passed to our courier for delivery purposes.

Your data will also enable us to bill you and to contact you where necessary concerning your orders. We will also use and analyse the information we collect so that we can administer, support, improve and develop our business.

We do not record or keep any of your credit or debit card details on our systems.

Your contact details are kept on our database for future communication.

We may also collect information about your usage of our website as well as information about you from messages you post to the website and e-mails or letters you send to us. In particular, we may use your information to contact you for your views on our services and to notify you occasionally about important changes or developments to the website or our services. Further, where you have consented, we might also use your information to let you know by email about other products and services which we offer that may be of interest to you. If you change your mind about being contacted in the future, please email info@tapasinabox.com.

We will not pass on any of your data to another party unless we are required to do so by Law.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

We will not sell, trade, rent or exchange your personal information with or to others. We may, however, provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns and related site information to reputable third-party vendors and affiliates. These statistics will include no personally identifiable information.

PAYMENT SECURITY

Your payment is processed by Payment Service Provider Protx. All transaction information passed between merchant sites and the Protx VSP Systems is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted and any messages sent to our servers from Protx are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering. You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing you pass to the Protx servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.

Once on the Protx systems, all sensitive data is secured using the internationally recognised 256-bit encryption. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign’s Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data Protx hold is extremely secure and they are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so.

Protx has multiple private links into the banking network that are completely separate from the Internet and which do not cross any publicly accessible networks. Any cardholder information sent to the banks and any authorisation message coming back is secure and cannot be tampered with.

No individuals within Protx are able to decrypt transaction information or cardholder data. Our systems only allow access to our most senior staff and only in extenuating circumstances (such as investigations of Card Fraud by the Police). Your transaction information and customer card information is secure even from Protx employees because their systems never display the full card numbers, even on administration screens.
